Westelijk Halfrond 159 Amstelveen

Description

This spacious and bright corner apartment is located in building ”Meridiaan” on the 8th residential floor (US counting) on the southeast corner. The house has a large south-east-facing balcony with a beautiful unobstructed view of low-rise houses and lots of greenery.
It is located at the Westelijk Halfrond in the Bankras/Kostverloren district in Amstelveen. Close to shops, public transport, sports facilities, schools as well as meadows and parks. The Zuidas, train station Station Zuid, Amstelveen city centre are a tram ride (tram 5 and 25) or a short bike ride away. Also easy access to freeway A9 and ring road A10. Free parking in the parking lot of the apartment building.

LAYOUT

The spacious entrance of the building is formed by a hall with mailboxes, a staircase and the elevator. With the elevator (or stairs) you reach the 8th residential floor (US counting) where the apartment is located.

From the elevator hall on the 8th floor (US counting) you enter the entrance, here are the meter cupboard and a spacious storage room.
After the entrance is the central hall with enough space for extra cupboards.

Light enters the large living room through the windows on both the east and south sides.

The kitchen (2011) is equipped with a two-burner gas hob (which can easily be expanded to four burners), a combi convection/steam oven, a refrigerator, a separate freezer and a dishwasher. In the kitchen there is sufficient space for placing a dining table and chairs.
The semi-open kitchen gives access to the large south-east-facing balcony. A narrower balcony runs along the entire apartment, which also serves as a firebreak.

There are two spacious, bright bedrooms.
A master bedroom on the south and a second bedroom on the east that is currently used as a home office.

In this flat, the door in the hall has been closed, which previously provided access to the second bedroom. The second bedroom (home office) is now accessible through the living room and kitchen. The current layout gives a surprising and spacious effect. It is very easy to return the flat to its original state.

The bathroom has a bath with shower, sink and a washer/dryer connection.

There is a separate toilet.

The storage room is located in the bottom of the complex on the second floor (US counting).

The floor in the entire house is fitted with floor covering (not glued); under the carpet of the living room is a parquet floor, under the carpet of the bedrooms and the hall is linoleum and in the bathroom a tiled floor. The floor covering can be easily removed without damage to the floor below.

ADDITIONAL

The apartment is located in a surprisingly green area.
The Kostverlorenhof neighborhood shopping center is a few hundred meters away. The Amstelveen’s city centre, the Stadshart”, with its many shops and restaurants, as well as the “Zuidas” and trainstation Station Zuid are close by and can be reached by public transportation or by bicycle.
Public transportation tram 25 and 5 and various bus lines are around the corner. Freeway A9 and ring road A10 are easily accessible. You can park for free in the parking lot of the apartment complex.

SELLER’S WORDS

I was born in Amstelveen and lived here my entire childhood. When I was young and I was visiting my aunt, who lived in this very same apartment, I always thought: “when I am older than I would love to live here”.
After living abroad for many years and I finally returned to Amstelveen in 2011, my wish came true.
I love the apartment, I love its location.  I love the view.
Shops within walking distance. Public transport that will take me to the city center of Amsterdam in no time. The Zuidas, train station and Schiphol so close by.
Walking or biking to nearby parks, sports facilities, shops. Free parking. Within minutes on the highway.
In short a perfect place.
Why move? Why sell the apartment? I fell in love and the man I fell in love with lives on the island Terschelling. I am moving to the island.
